You can send a no obligation enquiry to several hotels at once directly from the portal. The platform is available in German, Italian and English.
Who is behind the portal?
We are a team of 3 people who experienced first hand that the beautiful South Tyrolean wellness hotels often get lost on Booking and similar platforms. That experience sparked the idea for SuedtirolWellness. The full details on operator and editorial responsibility are in the Imprint.
Does the platform cost anything?
No, for you as a guest the use is completely free. No booking fee, no commission, no surcharge on the hotel price. You pay directly at the hotel at the original price.
What is the difference to Booking.com or HRS?
Booking and HRS are booking engines with tens of thousands of hotels and a commission model. SuedtirolWellness is a curated portal with selected wellness hotels in South Tyrol, all personally vetted. With us you get not a booking engine but an editorial recommendation. Booking happens directly between you and the hotel.
How does a hotel enter the portfolio?
Hotels are editorially selected by us according to criteria such as spa quality, location, amenities, guest satisfaction and authenticity of the wellness experience. Hoteliers can contact us if interested, but we only take houses that meet our editorial standards.

When is the best time to travel for wellness in South Tyrol?
Wellness works year-round. Spring (April to June) brings apple blossom and mild weather, perfect for hiking and spa. Summer is high season with outdoor pool weather. What does Adults Only mean?
Adults Only hotels admit only adult guests, usually from 14 or 16 years upwards. Advantage: continuous calm in the spa, no children at the pool, quiet dinner atmosphere. Which hotels are family friendly?
Family friendly wellness hotels have childcare, family sauna or pool area, kid-friendly food and usually separate adults only zones for parents. Hotel Fameli in Olang at the foot of Kronplatz and Wiesenhof Garden Resort are top addresses. Both offer a kids club plus elegant adults only spa for parents.
What does a wellness weekend in South Tyrol cost?

How do I find the right hotel?
Three ways. 1: Via Hotels overview filter by region, stars, specialization. 2: Via Regions browse if location matters more to you. 3: Via Blog read curated lists (pillar pages like adults only, infinity pool, family). If unsure, use our collective enquiry function and have offers sent by several hotels.
Do I book directly at the hotel or through you?
You always book directly at the hotel. We are not a booking engine. Through our enquiry form you send a no-obligation request to one or several hotels at once. The hotels reply by email with an offer. Booking, payment and cancellation terms you arrange directly with the hotel.
Do you charge commission or any fee?
No. Neither from the guest nor from the hotel do we charge commission on bookings. The hotel price for you remains unchanged.
What happens if the hotel does not reply?
Hotels usually reply within 24 hours, in high season up to 48 hours. If no reply after 3 days, contact us at info@suedtirolwellness.com. We contact the hotel personally and help with alternatives if needed.
What are the cancellation terms?
Cancellation terms are agreed directly between you and the hotel and stated in your booking confirmation. Common in South Tyrol is free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival, then graduation up to 100 percent cancellation fee from 7 days. Premium hotels often have stricter terms.

How do I travel by train?
ÖBB Nightjet from Munich, Vienna, Stuttgart, Berlin directly to Bolzano or Brixen. During the day DB IC + ÖBB Railjet via Munich or Innsbruck. From Bolzano or Brixen station continue with regional train or bus to the hotel. Many hotels offer shuttle from the station. Train arrival guide.
Which toll routes when arriving by car?
Main route Brenner Motorway A22 from Munich (Inntal A12) via Brenner. Toll in Austria (vignette) and Italy (toll stations). Rule of thumb from Munich: approx. 30 euro toll round trip including Brenner. In winter snow chains mandatory from Brenner south if icy.
Which airport is closest?
Bolzano airport is the closest of all, however with a small seasonal route network. After that Innsbruck (1 h to Bolzano). Verona (2 h, larger choice of direct flights). Munich (4 h, large choice). Bergamo (3.5 h, low cost option). From Verona, Innsbruck or Munich airport comfortably with FlixBus or ÖBB to Bolzano.
What is the South Tyrol Mobilcard?
Day ticket or week ticket for all public transport in South Tyrol (bus, regional train, cable cars Renon, Mendola). 7 day card approx. 38 euro. At the hotel usually included free as Guest Card. Perfect for car-free holidays.

What language is spoken in South Tyrol?
Three official languages. German is spoken by approx. 70 percent of the population as mother tongue, Italian by approx. 25 percent, Ladin by approx. 4 percent in the Dolomite valleys Val Gardena and Val Badia. In wellness hotels you are served fluently in all three languages plus English.
How do you handle tipping?
Tipping in South Tyrol is voluntary and not expected. For good service in hotel or restaurant 5-10 percent. In the hotel it is common at the end of the stay to leave a collective tip or to tip service staff directly (5-20 euro per person depending on length of stay).
What should I definitely try culinarily?

What is the typical weather like?
South Tyrol has 300 days of sunshine per year. Summer warm (25-32 degrees in the Adige Valley, cooler in the mountains). Spring mild from April. Autumn sunny and stable. Winter cold in the mountains (ski-friendly), mild in the Adige Valley (often 10 degrees and sun). In the mountains from 1500 m often own microclimates with own rules.
